ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Government employees and residents in eastern Kunar province say banks are refusing to give them salaries, saying they have run out of cash.
Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) officials admit the problem and say the transfer of physical cash to private banks has been delayed since last two weeks and they are in contact with government authorities in Kabul in this regard.
Fazel Wahid, an official of Information and Culture Department, said: “It is my second day visiting this private bank to withdraw my salary, but the bank officials say they have no cash in their branch.”
