AIBAK (Pajhwok): Eight Russian tourists, who travelled to northern Samangan province, say they are happy to visit historic and ancient places of Afghanistan.
During the last seven months, more than 260 foreign tourists had arrived in Samangan, visiting historic and sightseeing places in Aibak city.
Marina, one of the Russian visitors, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Afghanistan was one of spectacular countries and with untouched places in the world. These beauties attracted them and they actually wanted to visit these places, she said.
She said: “I have watched many documentaries about the beauty of Takht-i-Rostam stone and I wanted to see this ancient place closely, but what caught my attention was its architecture, which is very excellent and delicately carved.”
Leta is another tourist who commended on the beauty of Afghanistan and said that she had heard a lot about historic and ancient places here and she was so happy to explore them.
She added: "Of all the local Afghan food, I found it very interesting that it is cooked by men.”
According to officials, there are nearly 114 historic and ancient monuments in Samangan, of which 106 are registered with the Ministry of Information and Culture.
Meanwhile, Maulvi Ferozuddin Munib, head of information and culture of Samangan, told Pajhwok that there was no problem concerning tourism in the province and all tourists could visit all places with ease.
