KABUL (Pajhwok): Moscow will continue to stay in touch with Beijing, Tehran and Islamabad on Afghanistan, says a senior Russian diplomat.
The Russian presidential envoy for Afghanistan said: “There are no plans for such [contacts] with exact dates in the near future.”
Zamir Kabulov, however, indicated his country remain in contact with the regional quartet. “But we have no concrete dates,” he told TASS.
In September, Russia hosted the Moscow Format meeting on Afghanistan, which was also attended by the caretaker government in Kabul.
The huddle in Kazan brought together representatives from Russia, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Turkey attended the last meeting as observers.
