KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has emphasised on the complete rounding up of beggars in the capital Kabul.
Baradar underlined the imperative at a joint meeting of beggars-collecting committee officials and representatives from the ministries and agencies concerned on Saturday.
His office said in a statement the deputy prime minister stressed the need for a complete collection of beggars in the city. He also called for an assessment of the deserving individuals for continued assistance from the government.
He said the caretaker administration was addressing problems of the needy citizens, especially beggars, and was striving to provide them with basic amenities of life.
Baradar added he had instructed all officials of the committee, especially the Ministry of Information and Culture, to discharge their duties according to the procedure already laid down.
