KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund has said serving the people is one of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s priorities and the acting government is fully committed to fulfilling its responsibilities towards that end.
Mullah Baradar, who is in Iran on an official visit, held a meeting with officials of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Tehran, his office said in a statement.
Mullah Baradar highlighted that over the past four decades, Afghans encountered numerous challenges in foreign lands.
He said the incumbent government had prioritized serving the people and was fully committed to fulfilling its responsibilities in this regard.
Baradar emphasized that the happiness and contentment of the Afghan people was their primary aspiration.
He called upon responsible individuals to exert their utmost efforts in addressing the concerns of fellow citizens promptly and effectively.
According to him, Afghanistan's progress hinges on a government dedicated to serving the nation. He said the nation collaborated closely with the government in all endeavors and it would enable the nation to stand on its own feet.
Furthermore, he directed embassy officials in Tehran to prioritize higher education opportunities for Afghan students in Iran and resolve any related issues.
The embassy officials reported on their activities and highlighted substantial improvements in solving problems faced by Afghan refugees and workers in Iran following the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate.
They also noted successful engagements with Iranian authorities to facilitate necessary support. Additionally, they mentioned the elimination of corruption within the embassy's operations, resulting in a significant increase in its revenue compared to previous years.
