KABUL (Pajhwok): Responding to latest remarks of Iranian and Tajikistan presidents, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid on Thursday said the incumbent government in Afghanistan was inclusive and no country had the right to interfere in internal affairs of their country.
Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi arrived yesterday (Wednesday) in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, on an official visit. Raisi was welcomed by the President of Tajikistan and the two held a closed-door meeting.
Media reports quoted Raisi and his Tajikistani counterpart Imam Ali Rahmon as saying that Tehran and Dushanbe have a common concern about the situation of the Afghan people.
The Iranian leader considered growth and progress the right of Afghan people and said that Iran and Tajikistan, as two neighbors of Afghanistan, felt more responsible towards the people of Afghanistan.
Raisi said: “We believe that there should be a government that represents all ethnicities, religions and the people of Afghanistan and take lasting steps for the development of this country.”
Imam Ali Rahmon corroborated Raisi’s remarks and said he talked to his counterpart about important international and regional issues especially issues related to Afghanistan and Palestine.
He said Tajikistan that had experienced a civil war wanted peaceful resolution of problems and conflicts.
About the remarks of the two presidents, Zabihullah Mujahid told Pajhwok Afghan News the government of Afghanistan was inclusive and all the ethnicities were part of the government and no one had the right to interfere in internal issues of the country.
Mujahid praised supportive words uttered by the two presidents about Afghanistan, but added: “Countries must support this country and its system, not some individuals.”
