HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The World Health Organization (WHO) has delivered a shipment of medical equipment worth $70,000 to zonal and maternity hospitals in western Herat province, an official said on Thursday.
Zonal hospital chief physician Dr. Mohammad Aref Jalali thanked WHO and said the donated equipment would be used in treating patients in the province.
The medical equipment include three standard anesthetic devices, various and modern surgical and operation devices, centrifuge, bed covers and operating and surgical clothing kits, he added.
The Herat Zonal hospital is the largest hospital in the western zone, providing treatment to patients from Herat, Ghor, Farah and Badghis provinces.
