PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): About seven check dams have been executed at a cost 17 million afghanis in central Logar province, an official said on Wednesday.
Eng. Fazal Rahman, an official of Logar River Basin Authority, told Pajhwok Afghan News the dams had been funded by the Ministry of Energy and Water (MoEW) and were put into service in Baraki Barak, Khwakhi, Sarkh and Kharwar districts and the provincial capital.
He said the check dams had the capacity to store 60,000 cubic metres of water and similar projects would be implemented in Azra and Mohammad Agha districts as well . . .
