KABUL (Pajhwok): Canada has evacuated 304 more Afghan nationals from Pakistan to Toronto, the Immigration, Refugees, Citizenship Canada (IRCC) said on Thursday.
IRCC wrote on its X handle: “Today (Thursday), 304 Afghan nationals arrived in Vancouver on a charter flight from Pakistan.”
They will continue their journey to approximately 27 communities across Canada, including Kitchener, London and Vancouver.”
According to IRCC, Canada has met its goal of welcoming at least 40,000 refugees and vulnerable Afghans since August 2021, and work continues to process eligible applications already received.
IRCC confirmed 319 Afghan refugees had reached Halifax on a charter flight from Pakistan on January 30.
