KABUL (Pajhwok): Custom officials in southwestern Nimroz and southern Helmand and Kandahar provinces have recovered smuggled goods from Pakistan into Afghanistan and prevented the smuggling of scrap to Pakistan, according to a statement on Monday.
The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on its Twitter handle wrote last week officials of the Custom Department recovered goods which were brought through smuggling into Afghanistan.
The smuggled items were 10 motorcycles, 35 tonnes of kinno, 12.2 tonnes of sweets, four tonnes of pulses, 2.2 tonnes of herbal medicines, 1.7 tonnes of medicines, 15.1 tonne garments, 120 kilograms of agriculture medicines and 260 carton of Achar.
MoF on its twitter handle wrote that 65.5 tonnes of scrap also recovered which was smuggled to Pakistan.
The ministry did not talk about the arrest of any individual in this regard.
