JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) has distributed over 100 goats and some other equipment to hundreds of vulnerable families in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Monday.
Mawlavi Qamar Gul Nasrat, head of the ARCS in the Eastern Zone of the country, told Pajhwok Afghan News with the financial support of Austria 110 vulnerable families provided goats and some other equipment.
He said each family was provided with five goats.
Ihsanullah Mamlawal, deputy head of the ARCS in the region, said each family was provided with 50 kg of corn, shovel, bowl, gloves and 350 afs cash.
Rahimullah, whose father has died and currently hold responsibility for 10-member family was happy about the assistance and demanded more work opportunities as well.
The ARCS head said efforts were underway to provide work opportunities for people instead of the provision of food and cash.
