KABUL (Pajhwok): The head coach of athletic national team, Ahmad Feroz Sakhizada, passed away due to a hemorrhagic stroke in Iran on Saturday.
The Afghanistan Athletics Federation (AAF) confirmed the death of Sakhizada on its Facebook page.
It said: “Sakhizada held a bachelor’s degree in physical training and sports. He was a professional trainer of the athletics federation and had served for 30 years.”
He participated as a coach in Asian Games hosted by Iran a week ago and was living in Iran with his family for last few months.
The Afghanistan Athletics Federation called his death a great loss for Afghanistan sports.
