FARAH CITY (Pajwhok): A building has been constructed for the maternity ward in the provincial hospital of western Farah province at a cost of 16 million afghanis, an official said on Wednesday.
Public Health Director Maulvi Ihsanullah Shakar told Pajhwok Afghan News the maternity ward had no building in the past.
He said the two-storey building was constructed with financial support of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee (UNHCR) and took six months to complete.
He added the 20-bed facility would provide maternity services to the patients.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim, a resident of Farah city, told Pajhwok the maternity department had no building of its own in the past.
He said the new facility would help prevent crowding and treat patients properly.
