KABUL (Pajhwok): A US-based Afghan entrepreneur has evinced a keen interest in investing in Afghanistan’s mining sector.
Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Sheikh Shahabuddin Dilawar met Ahmad Mohammad Ali Rahimi, chairman of the Heaven Capital Group.
The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP) said Rahimi cited his experience in oil and gas, precious stone and others fields.
According to a statement from the ministry, Rahimi expressed a keen interest in investing in the mining sector of Afghanistan.
Dilawar welcomed the group’s interest in investment, saying his ministry had invited bids for various mines, including oil and gas. The group can participate in the bidding process.
All foreign capitalists were welcomed to invest in different sectors in Afghanistan, commented Dilawar, who assured all possible cooperation.
