KABUL (Pajhwok): The Salang highway, connecting Kabul with northern provinces, was reopened for traffic on Tuesday, the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) said.
MoPW spokesman Mohammad Ashraf Haqshanas wrote on his X handle: “The key highway that was closed for traffic at 8:00pm last night was reopened for all kinds of traffic at 7:00am today.”
He said the department concerned continued sanding and salting the road, but snowfall and rainfall had not yet stopped and the weather remained cloudy.
MoPW asked drivers to carry wither equipment such as chains, warm clothing, food and fuel while using the highway.
