Band-i-Amir lift Qush Tepa T20 Cup

KABUL (Pajhwok): Band-i-Amir have defeated Mes Ainak by 23 runs to emerge as the champions of the Qush Tepa T20 Cup 2024.

The final of Qush Tepa Cup, commencing on May 1, was played at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium on May 13.

Band-i-Amir decided to bat first after winning the toss and set a target of 196 for the loss of five wickets.

Karim Janat (107) and Bahar Shinwari (32) helped their side post 196/5 in the first inning, according to the Afghanistan Cricket Board.

Wahidullah Zadran, Zia Ur Rahman, Dawlat Zadran and Mohammad Riaz took one wicket each for Mes Ainak.

In response, Mes Ainak were bundled out for 173 and Band-i-Amir won the game by 23 runs to emerge victorious.

Karim Janat, who scored an incredible hundred in the first innings and took 4/34 in the 2nd, was declared the player of the match.

Bost Region’s slow left-arm spinner Mohammadullah Logari, who took 11 wickets during the event, was named the emerging player of the tournament.

Wahidullah Zadran, Mes Ainak’s upcoming mystery spinner, picked 13 wickets and was declared the best bowler of the Etisalat Presents Afghan United Bank– Qush Tepa National T20 Cup 2024.

Ibrahim Zadran, the Mes Ainak skipper, scored 323 runs and led his side to the final. He was adjudged as the best player of the tournament.
