LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): The License Evaluation Commission in southern Helmand province has closed 124 currency exchange shops over the non-availability of authentic licenses in the past week, an official said on Thursday.
Mawlavi Sher Mohammad Wahdat, assistant head of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, said: “The currency exchange shops were closed in Lashkargah City in order to force its owners to renew their licenses, do their business in a transparent manner and make sure the money people send are not lost.”
He said efforts were underway to implement the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) rules and regulations on all currency exchange shops.
