CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): The asphalting of Central Square in Charikar, the capital of central Parwan province has started, an official said on Friday.
Charikar Mayor Sayed Emal Naikmal Agha told Pajhwok Afghan News the square is 11,150 square metres wide was being asphalted at the cost of 45.8 million afs provided by the Public Works Ministry.
Mawlavi Shamsulhaq Sediqi, head of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, welcomed the launch of asphalting work and said: “The intersection of Charikar city is of great value because it is a public benefit project and the connecting point of the northern provinces to the center and also the only way for the commercial goods and traders.”
He added the completion of asphalting work would facilitate the dwellers.
