GARDEZ CITY (Pajhwok): Flash floods destroyed crops on 750 acres of land in Zurmat and Rohani Baba districts of southeastern Pakita province, an official said on Thursday.
Azizullah Karimi, Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Director, told Pajhwok Afghan News the crops included potatoes, tomatoes and eggplants.
Meanwhile, Habibullah, a farmer in Rohani Baba district, told Pajhwok the recent rain-induced flash floods destroyed crops on his land.
Amanullah, another farmer of the district, said the floods eradicated beans, potatoes and eggplants on his 3.5 acres of land.
He asked the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) and aid giving organisatios to assist the affected farmers.
About 20 residential houses were partially damaged or completely destroyed in the disaster, but no life losses, the official concluded.
