HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): A delegation of Turkish religious scholars recently visited western Herat province and met members of the Ulema Council and local officials.
The visit is aimed at strengthening cultural and economic ties between Turkey and Afghanistan.
According to a statement from the governor’s house, the Turkish delegation discussed with Herat's Ulema and local administration expanding religious and cultural relations.
The office of foreign relations in Herat welcomed the Turkish delegation and expressed gratitude to the Turkish Consul General, Afghan-Turkish schools, and TIKA for their support in education, cultural initiatives, and earthquake relief efforts.
Members of the Herat Ulema Council highlighted the significance of the Turkish delegation's visit for sharing knowledge and experiences, and emphasized the importance of continuing such exchanges.
Maulvi Hayatullah Muhajir Farahi, Deputy Governor of Herat, noted that the visit underscores deep connections between the two nations and advocates further development of cultural and economic relations.
During their visit, the delegation is scheduled to tour key religious and historical sites in Herat, including the Great Mosque, Gazar Gah Sharif, and Darul Uloom Ali Herat.
