HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The 8th annual festival of grapes, honey and figs was held in western Herat province to support farmers.
This three-day festival was opened today (Wednesday) by the initiative of the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Herat Province and with the financial assistance of one of the companies, with the presence of exhibitors, various unions and officials of agricultural companies and local authorities of Herat.
Mawlavi Pir Mohammad Halimi, head of the Agriculture Department, said holding this exhibition was vital for the marketing of agricultural products. He said that this department organized the grapes festival for the 8th consecutive year in this province with the colorful presence of farmers and other people.
He said by providing such opportunities, it tries to market farmers' products in different ways
Mohammad Younis Qazizada, head of the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment (CCI), said together with government officials, they were trying to help the growth of exports of domestic products by re-launching the air corridor.
It is pertinent to mention that in this exhibition, 40 booths have been created to display all kinds of domestic products and it is open to all people for three days from 9 am to 9 pm.
