Body formed to coordinate teaching hospitals’ affairs

KABUL (Pajhwok): A commission has been formed to coordinate the affairs of teaching hospitals in the country, the Higher Education Ministry said on Sunday.

The Ministry of Higher Educations (MoHE) wrote on its X handle, a commission to coordinate the affairs of teaching hospitals has been formed.

The commission is headed by deputy head of scientific department of the MoHE while other directors of the ministry’s departments and chancellors of education institutions will act as members of the commission.

The commission will collect relevant legislative documents, study the formation of teaching hospitals, their activities, standards and continuously supervise such hospitals.

Deputy director for MoHE scientific department Dr. Lotfullah Khairkhwah expressed his pleasure over the formation of the commission which held its maiden meeting and explained existing challenges, problems and the need for the formation of such a commission.

He said educational institutions like other infrastructures of the country sustained damages during the past few decades, so the commission was formed to ensure the provision of standard education and services.

The basic aim of the commission is to create more coordination between the relevant bodies and provide better services, Khairkhwah said.

Head of scientific programs department Eng. Sardar Wali Salihi also talked about the activities of the newly formed commission.

He shared more information about the formation of teaching hospitals, their activities, services and other standards with the members of the commission.

It was decided at the end of the meeting that members of the commission would also work on a draft for teaching hospitals and bring their opinions to the upcoming meeting.
