431 ophthalmic surgeries conducted in Farah

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Over 430 free-of-cost ophthalmic surgeries conducted in western Farah province in the past 10 days, an official said on Monday.

Mawlavi Ihsanullah Shakir, the provincial Public Health Department Director, said 10 days ago a team of ophthalmologists visited Farah province.

He said the checkup of 4163 patients from Farah City and districts conducted by these physicians.

Seven hundred patients were distributed glasses to address their eye problems.

Patients also hailed the free of cost treatment

Amina, one of the patients from 4th Municipality District of Farah City, said: “I conducted eyes surgery; my economic condition is not good and were unable to do this operation from personal pocket.”

He hailed the behavior of doctors and added after the operation his eye sight problem was addressed.

Another patient Rahim also said that he underwent free of cost treatment.

“I had eye sight problem for years, they conducted my operation and now my problem is resolved.”

Earlier, similar free of cost eye treatment camps were held in some other provinces.
