MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): More than 6,000 acres of state land have been reclaimed in the Nahr-i-Shahi district of northern Balkh province, officials said on Tuesday.
Walayat Khan Haji Agha, director of the Land Authority in Balkh, said that 6,350 acres of government land were retrieved from land grabbers in the Afghania township of the district.
Since the Land Grab Prevention Commission's establishment, over 35,000 acres of usurped land have been reclaimed in Balkh.
Ahmadullah Ahmadi, the district’s land authority director, emphasized the importance of public cooperation in recovering government lands.
According to him, approximately 9,000 acres of government land in the district have been reclaimed.
Residents have welcomed the government's efforts to distinguish between private and state land.
Samiullah, a resident of Afghania township, expressed support for the government's actions and urged officials to extend these efforts to other districts.
