FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): An Irish citizen has embraced Islam in Shahrak district of western Ghor province, an official announced on Wednesday.
Information and Culture Director Maulvi Mohammad Hamas told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Alhamdulillah, a young tourist from Ireland who entered Afghanistan for sightseeing converted to Islam in Dara Takht village on Tuesday.”
Following his conversion, the tourist was given Islamic name Abdullah.
He added the Irish tourist initially did research about Islam and then accepted the religion.
