GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A-year-long feud between Kochi and Tajik tribes has come to an end after mediation of tribal elders, religious scholars and government officials in Ghazni city, the capital of southern Ghazni province.
Oriented from a dispute over land ownership, the enmity had claimed a life of a person, Borders and Tribal Affairs Director Maulvi Jan Mohammad Momand told a reconciliation gathering.
He said enmity between Tajik and Kochis tribes in Daikhudidad area of the provincial capital stood resolved on Sunday.
He added the feud also caused heavy financial losses to the both tribes besides claiming a life.
He urged both tribes to live in atmosphere of peace instead of enmity.
On the other hand, members of both the tribes hugged and pardoned each other, promising to live in peace and brotherhood.
On behalf of the Tajik tribe, Allah Mohammad said that the hostility started from a trivial thing and had bad results.
He appreciated the mediators and requested them to resolve more such enmities.
Agha Mohammad, a mediator, said they were striving to resolve more such enmities through dialogue and Jirga.
He recalled they had resolved dozens of such enmities in the past two years in cooperation with government officials and religious scholars.
On Saturday, an eight-year old enmity between Kochis and Hazaara tribes in Nawar district of the same province was resolved.
