KABUL (Pajhwok): About 43,000 people have been appointed on merit to different government departments over the past three years.
Deputy Prime Minister Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi said this while addressing a graduation ceremony at the Kabul University.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Higher Education, 2,300 students graduated from the university.
“We are trying to provide the graduated with jobs”: the deputy premier was quoted as saying.
He told the graduates their real responsibility had just begun and they should serve their homeland and its people sincerely.
Hanafi said the interim government had provided suitable educational opportunities for Afghan youth.
