TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) inaugurated a hemodialysis machine at the provincial hospital of central Uruzgan province on Monday.
Governor Inayatullah Shuja told a ceremony in this regard: “Residents of the province will not have to take their patients suffering from kidney failure to other provinces.”
He said residents of the province were economically weak and the establishment of such facilities in the health sector will bring a positive change in their lives.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdul Ghafar Watanwal, chief physician at the provincial hospital, said MoPH opened the hemodialysis machine at the hospital and started function.
He said: “Hemodialysis is a type of machine that filters waste from human blood like extra fluids, toxins and extra minerals.”
He added patients, who had previously visited other provinces for treatment, would be treated in the provincial hospital.
At the same time, residents of Uruzgan also praised the activation of the new machine at the provincial hospital and added that they will no longer need to go to Kandahar or Kabul for treatment in this area.
