KABUL (Pajhwok): More than 450 tonnes of goods delivered through four ports and railroads nationwide in the past one month, an official said on Monday.
Mohammad Ashraf Haq Shanas, spokespersons of the Ministry of Public Works, on his x.com wrote that this amount of goods transfer occurred in the past solar month.
He said 349,599 tonnes of goods transferred through Hairatan Port, 25,630 tonnes transferred through Aqina port, 74,701 tonnes transferred through Torghondai, and 2,202 tonnes transferred through Khawaf-Herat making it a total of 452,123 tonnes of goods delivered last month.
The goods included crude oil and non-crude items.
According to the source, 777 tonnes of these shipments were for export, the majority of which were dried fruits and pomegranate juice.
The source said, the more the level of exports and shipments through the railway increases the more job opportunities are created and lead to national revenue increase, overall economic stability, development, and self-sufficiency..
The source said that the Ministry of Public Works is trying to create favorable conditions for more shipments and provide more facilities to traders.
According to the Ministry of Public Works, 452,031 metric tons of shipments were made through the railways of four ports of Afghanistan in the last month the current solar year.
