JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has donated eight containers of medicines to hospitals in eastern Nangerhar province, officials said on Wednesday.
The donated 68 types of different medicines will be distributed to all local hospitals according to their needs in the next three months, the officials added.
Provincial Public Health director Maulvi Aminullah Shareef confirmed the aid’s delivery, saying the medicines will be distributed to all local hospitals in January, February and March.
While thanking the UNICEF, Shareef urged the officials of the implementing “Just for Afghan Capacity and Knowledge (JACK)” organization to on time and fair distribution of the donated medicines based on the request and needs of local hospitals.
Before this, UNICEF had also provided medicines and health equipment to the Nangarhar Public Health Department.
