TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Construction work has been launched on 50 kilometers of roads in Tirinkot city, the capital of central Uruzgan province, an official said on Monday.
In a statement, governor’s spokesman Hafiz Samiullah Akrama said the paving and graveling of a 15-kilometer-road from Kotwal area to Posi area and a 35-kilometer road in Charchino district has been launched.
It said the projects were funded by the provincial government and technical assisted by the 205th Al-Badr Corps 4th Infantry Bridge.
These roads had been destroyed during the past four decades and are used by residents of dozens of villages.
“People’s travel routes to Tirinkot city and Charchino district market will become shorter and easier and the projects will be completed in a month”: the statement added.
Residents are happy with the construction of these roads.
According to Mohammad Azim, a resident of Posi area, the route of Tirinkot was damaged and people faced problems while traveling.
They asked the government to implement reconstruction projects and pay attention to people’s problems.
