KABUL (Pajhwok): The construction of a water dam at a cost of 19 million afs has started in the Nawa district of southern Ghazni province, a statement said on Tuesday.
The hydropower project would be built in Faizwi village of Nawa district the Ministry of Ruler Rehabilitation and Development (MoRRD) said in a statement.
The source said the project would cost about 19 million afs which was inaugurated by Mullah Mohammad Yunus Akhundzada, the acting Minister of Rural Development.
According to the source, the dam is 210 meters long, 6 meters high and has a storage capacity of 30,000 cubic meters of water, which would provide employment for dozens of people during its construction.
