KABUL (Pajhwok): Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has urged unfreezing of Afghanistan’s assets and urged that projects between Central Asia and Pakistan should be implemented through Afghanistan.
Dar, who is also deputy Prime Minister, has called for the release of frozen Afghan assets at a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) recently held in New York, reports said.
He emphasised at the meeting that the release of these assets would not only help improve Afghanistan’s economic situation, but could also lead to strengthening regional cooperation.
He also stressed the importance of implementing regional projects between Central Asia and Pakistan through Afghan territory, stating that these projects could contribute to sustainable growth and development in the region.
He also emphasized Pakistan's commitment to supporting the people of Afghanistan and said that his country is working to facilitate humanitarian assistance and strengthen economic ties between countries in the region.
