TALOQAN (Pajhwok): The Counter-Narcotics Department has seized 6,299 kilograms of opium in northern Takhar province.
In a statement, the police headquarters said approximately 6,299 kilograms of opium were recovered and seized, cleverly concealed inside a gas tanker in the Khatayan area of the province.
Two individuals were arrested in connection with the smuggling, which involved transporting the opium from northeastern Badakhshan province to Takhar.
