KABUL (Pajhwok): A five-story commercial market that will cost 96 million afghanis is being built in northern Sar-i-Pul province, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs office said on Wednesday.
In a statement, DPMEA wrote the regular meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee was held in Kabul.
The meeting presented the building of a commercial market on municipal land by private sector, and other investment plans in various sectors for discussion, the statement added.
It said the plan to build commercial market was endorsed by the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee and referred to Economic Commission for approval.
Under the plan, the private sector will build a five-story commercial market costing about 96 million afghanis, which will have 341 shops with parking in basement.
At this meeting, plans for private sector to manufacture automobiles in Kabul, the Industrial Park, developing a strategic framework for the country’s economic growth, and establishing a commercial market in Islam Qala port came up for discussion.
According to DPMEA, committees appointed for comprehensive evaluation of these plans have been tasked with holding technical discussions with the companies submitting plans and their reports on specific dates.
