3 security men killed in Nangarhar checkpoint attack

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Three security personnel were killed and two others were injured in a gun attack at a check post in Sherzad district of eastern Nangarhar province, police said on Tuesday.

Nangarhar police spokesman Sayed Tayeb Hammad wrote in a statement: “Three Mujahideen were martyred and two others were wounded when their cook opened fire at them in Sherzad district of Nangarhar at 10 am today.”

He told Pajhwok Afghan News that security forces arrested the attacker while fleeing the area.

He also said they had launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the incident and other details.
