105 Ukrainian drones shot down, claims Russia

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Defence Ministry in Moscow has claimed shooting down 105 Ukrainian drones over different Russian regions.

Two people were injured and residential and non-residential buildings damaged as a result of a drone attack in Tula, TASS reported, citing information from the ministry.

On May 22, air defences intercepted and destroyed 105 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over Russian regions, the Defense Ministry said.

It claimed 35 drones were downed over Moscow region, 14 over Orel, 12 over Kursk, 11 over Belgorod, 10 over Tula, nine over Kaluga, seven over Voronezh, three each over Lipetsk and Smolensk, as well as one over Bryansk.

According to the report, two people were injured in Tula, where one of the drones crashed into the roof of an apartment building.

Russia said Ukrainian forces fired 94 drones and 44 projectiles into Belgorod region overnight, wounding two civilians.

“In the Shebekinsky Municipal District, six projectile and 26 drones attacks were launched at the town of Shebekino,” Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

The settlements of Arkhangelskoye, Voznesenovka, Ziborovka, Meshkovoye, Murom, Nezhegol, Rzhevka and Stadnikov were also tarted, TASS news agency quoted him as saying.

Nineteen drones were shot down and jammed, the official said, adding a man was wounded in one attack on a moving car in Shebekino.

Gladkov wrote on Telegram five civilian houses, three buildings, a gas pipeline and power lines were damaged in the district, causing a blackout in two settlements.

At least two projectiles and 14 drones were launched at at eight settlements in Belgorodsky district, where a social site, a commercial facility, three cars, a power line, four houses and a communication facility, were damaged.

The governor said 19 drones were fired into Valuisky district, damaging a power line, an administration building, a communication facility, two household buildings and a tractor.

Graivoronsky District was attacked with two projectiles and seven drones; which injured a civilian besides harming four cars and a private house.

He said 34 projectiles and a dozen drones were launched at Krasnoyaruzhsky district, where a damage assessment is ongoing.

Eleven  drones were downed over Volokonovsky, Chernyansky, Gubkinsky, Novooskolsky and Starooskolsky districts.

Four drones targeted Borisovsky district, while a similar attack happened on he town of Alexeyevka. “Ten private houses were damaged.”
