KABUL (Pajhwok): The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs has announced plans to establish advanced laboratories worth 233 million afghanis to test the quality of minerals across the country.
In a statement on X, the office said the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission held its regular meeting, during which the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP) presented a proposal to set up modern testing laboratories in Kabul and several provinces.
Following comprehensive discussions, the committee approved the proposal and referred it to the Economic Commission for final approval.
According to the statement, a total of 233 million afghanis has been allocated for the project — 15 million afghanis for construction and 218 million afghanis for laboratory equipment.
The office added that several other agenda items were reviewed during the meeting and necessary decisions were taken.
