KABUL (Pajhwok): One child has been killed and 14 others injured in a gas explosion in the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas, according to local media reports.
The IRNA news agency reported that the explosion occurred on Saturday afternoon in a residential house after a gas leak and buildup triggered the blast.
Mohammad Amin Liaqat, head of the Bandar Abbas Fire Department, said the incident happened at around 2:10 p.m. in Baharestan Alley 16. He added that all the injured were rescued from the building and transferred to health centers for treatment.
According to preliminary investigations, the cause of the incident was a gas leak, he said.
The report added that a four-year-old girl was killed in the explosion and 14 other people were injured.
