KABUL (Pajhwok): A reliable source says the process of transporting Afghan pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will begin tomorrow (Saturday) from Kabul International Airport.

A source told Pajhwok that preparations for the launch of the pilgrimage transfer process were completed in Kabul this evening, and that tomorrow at 3:00 a.m. the first flight carrying Afghan pilgrims will depart from Kabul International Airport.

According to the source, the flight will head to the holy city of Medina.

Dr. Noor Mohammad Saqib, Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs, said a few days ago that 30,000 people from the country will travel to Saudi Arabia this year to perform Hajj.

He added that, compared to last year, the cost per pilgrim has decreased by about 16,000 Afghanis.

He said each pilgrim will be charged 266,400 Afghanis this year and added that the total cost of the Hajj process this year amounts to 7,818,300,720 Afghanis.

It is worth noting that last year as well, 30,000 people from Afghanistan traveled to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.
