KABUL (Pajhwok): Director of the Afghanistan Standard and Quality Authority (ASQA), Mullah Faizullah Tamim, and officials from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport have discussed ways to expand economic cooperation and facilitate transit and exports.
Tamim met with Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rahman Dursun oglu Hummatov, in Baku during his official visit to the country, ASQA said in a statement.
The meeting was also attended by Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry, as well as the head of the state-owned Oil and Gas Company.
Tamim highlighted the important role of standards and quality in boosting exports and called for efficient transport and transit facilities to help Afghan products reach European markets.
Both sides also discussed expanding economic cooperation and simplifying export procedures, while Azerbaijani officials reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation in facilitating transit for Afghan goods.
ASQA said it remained committed to standardising production to strengthen exports and ensure a sustained presence of Afghan products in regional and global markets.
