KABUL (Pajhwok): Construction work has been launched on three electricity transmission and distribution projects worth 1.12 billion afghanis in northern Faryab province, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs said on Tuesday.
In a statement, the office said the projects include the extension of a 110-kilovolt transmission line from Faryab’s central substation to Balchargh and Garziwan districts, construction of a 110/20kV substation in Balchargh and expansion of electricity distribution networks through transformers with a capacity of 18 MVA in the same district and 5 MVA in Pashtunkot district.
Funded by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), the projects will be implemented by the private sector within three years.
