KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Water and Energy says that water from the Salma Dam has been released and monitoring and guidance for farmers are underway to ensure fair distribution and prevent wastage.
In a statement on X, the ministry quoted officials of the Harirod–Murghab River Basin as saying that the distribution of Salma Dam water is being regularly monitored to ensure equitable allocation to agricultural lands.
The statement added that, during these monitoring efforts, farmers are also being provided with necessary guidance on preventing water loss and ensuring efficient use of water resources.
It is worth noting that water from the Salma Dam was released on April 24 of this year for irrigation purposes.
