KABUL (Pajhwok): Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada says IEA seeks political and economic ties with the world, particularly Islamic countries, in accordance with Sharia principles and has fulfilled its responsibilities in this regard.
Zabihullah Mujahid, chief spokesman for IEA, shared the Eid-ul-Adha message of the country’s supreme leader on his X account.
He said: “Under the governance of IEA, the Sharia-based rights of all citizens are safeguarded. No one is permitted to oppress another; injustice is prevented and the rights of the oppressed are pursued.”
Through the functioning of Sharia courts, Islamic Sharia is being implemented. Likewise, the duty of the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice is being actively carried out. In this regard, efforts continue to reform society in accordance with Islamic principles, he added.
He called on religious scholars and officials of the Ministry Vice, Virtue and Complaints (MoVVC), as well as those responsible for guidance and preaching, to intensify their efforts in educating and advising people on essential religious matters, particularly prayer and other obligations incumbent upon believers.
He also reaffirmed IEA’s commitment to ensuring the rights and welfare of orphans, widows, persons with disabilities and the needy.
He said IEA seeks political and economic relations with the world, especially Islamic countries, within the framework of Sharia principles and has fulfilled its responsibilities in this regard.
He added: “I call on IEA officials to pay close attention to the commands and prohibitions of Allah Almighty within the scope of their responsibilities, to fully discharge their duties in serving the people, ensuring security and providing public welfare in accordance with Sharia, to keep their doors open to people’s needs and to process affairs properly and promptly.”
He also instructed security forces to pay full attention to the welfare, service and safety of people during Eid days and take all necessary measures to ensure their happiness and peace.
He further called on relevant authorities to pay greater attention to returning refugees and provide more facilities in land distribution, transport and resettlement.
He added: “It is our shared responsibility to protect and preserve our Islamic system, as it has come through the sacred blood of many martyrs and the sacrifices of Mujahideen and sincere Muslims. Let us therefore work together with unity and sincerity, stand beside one another like brothers and continue efforts to defeat the evil intentions of enemies, value security, prosperity and development and strengthen and sustain the Islamic system.”
