KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 147 Afghan refugees have been released from prisons in Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan during the current week, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) said on Thursday.

In a statement, the ministry said 125 individuals returned through the Torkham crossing, while 22 others entered the country via Spin Boldak.

It said the returnees included families and individuals detained for lacking legal documents and who had spent varying periods in custody.

The statement added that the returnees were provided with necessary assistance before being transferred to their respective areas.
