KABUL (Pajhwok): Argentina and Spain are all set to meet tonight in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the United States.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 11:30pm Afghanistan time, according to reports.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is being jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, marking the first time in the tournament’s history that three countries have co-hosted the competition.
A total of 48 teams participated in this year’s tournament, with Argentina and Spain advancing to the final.
On 17 July, the White House announced that US President Donald Trump would attend the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Argentina have won the FIFA World Cup three times—first in 1978, again in 1986 and most recently in 2022—and will be aiming to defend their title tonight.
Spain, meanwhile, won their only FIFA World Cup title in 2010.
