KABUL (Pajhwok): Two people have been killed and 42 others injured after a bus carrying wedding guests overturned in Balochistan, officials said.
The accident took place on Thursday on the Kohlu–Dera Ghazi Khan highway, Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper reported.
The bus was travelling from Rakhni towards Kohlu while carrying people attending a wedding ceremony when it overturned in the Lasazai area of Kohlu district.
A police official said the bus overturned because it was overloaded. More than 40 people, including women and children, were injured in the accident.
Police and rescue workers shifted the injured to the Kohlu District Headquarters Hospital. A woman and a child later died of their injuries while receiving treatment.
Police said 25 of the injured were in critical condition and were transferred to a hospital in Dera Ghazi Khan for further treatment.
