Paktia blast kills two students

GARDEZ (PAN): Two students were killed and five others wounded in a blast in the southeastern province of Paktia on Sunday, an official said.

The bomb went off in the Janikhel area of Zurmat district, when the students were going home from school, an official of the education department said.

Ali Mohammad Yari told Pajhwok Afghan News two boys were killed and five others injured in the explosion.

A farmer was also wounded in the blast, witness Mohammad Rahim said.

Two of the injured were taken to Kabul due to the serious nature of their injuries, Gardez Civil Hospital Director Dr. Haya Gul Paktin said.
