GHAZNI CITY (PAN): A newly-constructed water storage facility was inaugurated in the Deh Yak district of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Thursday.
Funded by the Provincial Reconstruction), the dam project was cost $470,000 (23,171,000afs), Governor Musa Khan Akbarzada said.
Nearly 7,500 acres of land would come under irrigation and the facility would help strengthen the local economy, the governor told the inaugural ceremony.
Akbarzada promised similar dams would be constructed in four other districts of the province. The facility will benefit half of the 72,000 residents of the district.
