KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Monday said all officials of the third police district in capital Kabul have been fired and introduced to the attorney’s office, while some contractors arrested.
Najib Danish, MoI spokesman, told reporters here that all police districts in Kabul were under scrutiny in order to ensure security on roads and reduce crimes in the city.
He said the police chief and all police group commanders of the third police district of Kabul were fired on Monday over dereliction of duty and introduced to the attorney office for interrogation.
Without going into details, Danish said a number of MoI contractors who supplied poor quality and expired food to Afghan forces had been arrested.
Hashmat Stanikzai, spokesman for 101 Asmayee Police Zone in Kabul, confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News that the police chief for the third police district along with seven other senior officials of the district had been sacked over negligence, corruption and other charges.
He said the district police chief and other officials were under investigation at the attorney’s office.
